I’m a physician who has lived the complaints process, a proven leader and governance professional, and I have legal expertise supported by a Master of Laws (LLM).
Most physicians never think about the CMPA until the day they need it. I didn’t either, until the system I trusted to protect me became the system I had to challenge.
Early in my career, I experienced a decade-long conflict with a health authority that exposed serious gaps in the system physicians rely on for protection.
That experience shaped my understanding of vulnerability within our profession. I learned first hand how isolating and destabilizing it can be for physicians who find themselves facing complaints, investigations, or reputational harm.
Instead of walking away, I chose to understand the system and work to improve it. I’m running to continue advocating for a complaints process that is fair, fast, and more supportive of physicians.
I am a radiologist and nuclear medicine physician with a Master of Laws in Dispute Resolution from Osgoode Hall Law School.
I am a current director on the CMPA Board, where I’ve worked to be a strong and principled voice for fairness, transparency, and due process. Previously I served on the Canadian Medical Association Board and CMA Foundation Board.
Not just in principle, but in practice.
I’ve spent the last decade working toward that goal.
With your support I will continue this important work at the CMPA.
Elections open from March 18 to April 22.
